Goat Books Empty
PostSubject: Goat Books   Goat Books EmptySun Sep 25, 2011 3:05 pm

I'm on the look-out for books with goats (or a goat) as the main character. My son absolutely loves goats.
I'm already aware of:

The 3 Billy Goats Gruff
The Christmas Goat
Oh Look

Any other recommendations?

If you search for "goats" under Children's Books on Amazon.com, several come up that may be of interest, based on the covers at least. I don't remember Patricia Polacco's G Is for Goat well enough to give a personal recommendation, but her work always sells well, so I'm sure it's worth checking out.

The Great Goat Chase by Tony Bonning and illustrated by Sally Hobson is cute. When three goats get into Mr. Farmer's field he nor none of the farm animals can get them out. Finally a tiny bee offers to help. They think he is too small, but he CAN get them out threatening to sting their bottoms. Not the most clever ending, in my humble opinion, but illustrations and story are good.
